Berlin man threatened to kill two police officers, local judge, police say
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — Authorities say a Berlin man is behind bars in Somerset County after he allegedly threatened to kill two local police officers and a district judge.
Police say on Friday, 44-year-old Christopher Moran allegedly stole an alcoholic drink from the Diamond Mini Mart in Berlin Borough.
Officials say when officers arrived at the scene, Moran allegedly resisted arrest and threatened to kill the two men.
He is also accused of spitting on one of the officers.
Emergency crews battle early morning blaze at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Johnstown
Johnstown, Pa — UPDATE:
Bob Statler, the Fire Chief with the Johnstown Fire Department tells 6 News the initial report of the fire at Johnstown's Pleasant Hill Baptist Church located on the 200 block of Peelor Street came in at about a quarter to 7 A.M. Tuesday.
Statler says when crews responded to the scene, they arrived with fire venting from the basement of the church with fire and heavy smoke located in the main part of the chapel.

Man guilty of rape in case using DNA from 1995
Bellefonte, PA (WJAC) — A Mifflin County man was convicted Thursday by a Centre County judge for the 1995 rape of a Penn State student.
Scott Williams was found guilty of rape by forcible compulsion and aggravated assault by Judge Brian Marshall. Prosecutors tell 6 News' Gary Sinderson the action was a stipulated bench trial where the defense agreed to the two charges presented to the judge.
The judge approved a bench trial, a non-jury trial, for Williams in December.
Woman shot at man during Somerset County domestic incident

Deputy AG to prosecute Franciscan Friar cases
EBENSBURG -- While Attorney General Kathleen Kane presented the grand jury indictment against the three Franciscan Friars, she will not be prosecuting any of their cases.
Deputy Attorney General Daniel Dye will be prosecuting those cases, according to the AG's office. A spokesperson called that practice "normal".
