Portland State University faces $750K in repairs after protest occupation of library
PORTLAND, Ore. — It could cost between $750,000 and $875,000 to repair Portland State University's publicly-funded Millar Library after it was heavily damaged and vandalized during a protest occupation earlier this month. Millar Library was occupied by pro-Palestine protesters who staged an occupation of the building in late April through early May.

Portland Police previously gaveKATU a look at the extensive damage in the library, which included paint-covered floors, piles of trash, wooden pallets, and tents scattered all over the building.
Raheem Morris named Atlanta Falcons head coach, team passes on Bill Belichick
ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Falcons have hired Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris as their head coach after an exhaustive search that included six-time Super Bowl winner Bill Belichick, a person familiar with the decision told The Associated Press on Thursday.
The person spoke on condition of anonymity because the team had not made an announcement.
The 47-year-old Morris is a familiar name in Atlanta, having served as the Falcons' interim head coach for the final 11 games of the 2020 season after the firing of Dan Quinn.
Texas police officer killed in crash was Cambria County native
SAN ANTONIO, Texas (WJAC/KABB) — A Nanty Glo native was killed in an accident, while on his way to work for his second day on the job as a school resource officer in Texas.
Matthew Krupa, 27, died after the crash Thursday, according to our sister station KABB-TV. Krupa had started his new role with the North East Independent School District the day before the accident.
His wife, Emylee, told KABB that those who know him best said the only thing he loved more than being a police officer was his family, which includes 10-month-old daughter Mayleigh.

WASHINGTON (AP) — An anti-abortion activist who led others on an invasion and blockade of a reproductive health clinic in the nation's capital was sentenced on Tuesday to nearly five years in prison.
Lauren Handy, 30, was among several people convicted of federal civil rights offenses for blockading access to the Washington Surgi-Clinic on Oct. 22, 2020. Police found five fetuses at Handy's home in Washington after she was indicted.

BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WJAC) — Court documents are revealing new details about what led to a standoff between a woman and state police in Bedford County over the weekend.
According to a criminal complaint filed by state police, 57-year-old Catherine Imler is facing charges related to burglary, criminal trespassing and theft.
Troopers say the incident began around 1:30 p.m. Saturday when a man was washing dishes in his Bloomfield Township home and he spotted Imler, who was completely naked, approaching his back door.
PSP IDs suspect who shot, wounded trooper in Northumberland County
2nd UPDATE |State police have released the identity of the suspect who shot and wounded a Pennsylvania State Trooper Wednesday morning in Northumberland County.
Police say charges have been filed against 19-year-old Hunter Shaheen, who was also shot during the exchange of gunfire.
Authorities say Shaheen is now listed in stable condition.
The wounded trooper, whose identity is not yet known, has since been released from the hospital.
State police say all individuals involved in the incident have been placed on administrative leave pending the investigation.
