Cambria County Fair sees high turnout despite sizzling temperatures
High temperatures. High humidity. High turnout rates for the Cambria County Fair. Vendors and customers looking to stay cool this week.
The American Legion County fair is held every year here in Ebensburg. Vendors say this year the fair is different from before. They say the 2022 season had a lot of rain. Now sun with above average temperatures.
Administrators say what makes this year’s event more special is that this is the first time it hasn't rained heavily at the fair since before the pandemic.

Indiana County mass shooting reportedly stemmed from 'confrontation' during party, PSP says
Indiana County, PA (WJAC) — State police are providing new details about the investigation into Sunday's mass shooting at the Chevy Chase Community Center in White Township, Indiana County.
Investigators say the shooting reportedly stemmed from an alleged confrontation that occurred inside the building between several individuals.
Police say that when the gunfire erupted, some individuals who were not involved in the confrontation were inadvertently struck.
Authorities say police are still working to determine whether or not those involved in the shooting were invited guests of the party that was being held at that time.
New monument for fallen PA WWII soldiers
BOALSBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — A military monument was dedicated Sunday in Centre County. The monument at the Pennsylvania Military History Museum honors Pennsylvanians who died in the Battle of the Bulge, during World War II.
From December 1944 to January 1945, Allied forces withstood and repelled what would become Adolf Hitler's last gamble on the Western Front, paving the way for the Allied invasion of Nazi Germany, and the ultimate end of the Third Reich.
North Carolina's first medical cannabis dispensary opens for business
QUALLA BOUNDARY, N.C. (WLOS) — Saturday marked a historic day for North Carolina as the first medical cannabis dispensary held its grand opening in Cherokee.
A ribbon cutting was held at 9:30 a.m. outside The Great Smoky Cannabis Dispensary in the Qualla Boundary.
People all across the mountains were lined up outside, eagerly waiting to purchase the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians' packaged cannabis.
Forrest Parker, the general manager for the Great Smoky Cannabis Company, said that they are always striving to improve the quality of their products.
18-year-old drowns in Quemahoning Reservoir
CONEMAUGH TOWNSHIP, Pa (WJAC) -- Rescue boats filled the Quemahoning Reservoir, in search of an 18-year-old man who officials say drowned Monday afternoon.
They searched a little under a square mile with side scan sonar, multiple dive teams and drones.
Scalp Level deputy fire Chief David Boyer says it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, and the depth of the water can change drastically as they search.
"We vary from shoreline here, 10, 15 feet of water to 80 feet of water out in the channel, and the channel's a couple hundred feet wide,"

Since March 25, when the bird flu virus was confirmed in U.S. cattle for the first time, weekly sales of raw cow's milk have ticked up 21% to as much as 65% compared with the same periods a year ago, according to the market research firm NielsenIQ.
