JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — Johnstown's annual Polkafest had its final day, giving folks a little taste of Poland and other countries.
Of course, a band played some polka music, getting couples of all ages on the dance floor to boogie. And tons upon tons of food, like kielbasa and pierogis, were prepared there.
We caught up with some volunteers from St. Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Church grilling some meats.

Chestnut Ridge VP accused of failing to report allegations against middle school student
BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa (WJAC) — State police in Bedford County say a Chestnut Ridge school official is behind bars after he reportedly failed to properly report sexual assault allegations involving a student.
Troopers say in February, they received numerous complaints that a 12-year-old male student had been repeatedly sexually assaulting other students on one of the buses.
According to the affidavit, troopers learned that the school had first been notified of the allegations in November but failed to properly report them to ChildLine.
District 6-AA Wrestling Championships
ALTOONA, PA (WJAC) - The Field House at Altoona Area High School hosted the PIAA District 6 AA Championships. Forest Hills won the District 6 Team Award. Jackson Arrington was voted as the D6 Most Outstanding Wrestler. All the final results are posted below.

Driver charged with telling cop she was somebody else, but the height and age were way off
CLERMONT, Fla. (TND) — A driver caught speeding "immediately told me she does not have her driver's license on her,” a police officer said, “but stated that she would give me her name and date of birth."
The officer didn’t believe the driver and eventually arrested her for giving false information to a law enforcement officer, and more.
The traffic stop took place in Florida last Monday evening, April 29.
Extra $600 weekly federal benefits ending this week
HARRISBURG, Pa. (WJAC) — The state's labor and industry secretary says more than $28 billion have been paid in benefits since March 15.
Jerry Oleksiak says 92 percent of people who were eligible and filed for benefits between March 15 and June 20 received their payments as of Monday.
The extra $600 from the Federal Pandemic Compensation Program ends this week.

The Red Sox announced his death in a statement Sunday that detailed not only his baseball statistics but a career full of charitable endeavors.
Kamala Harris declares 'shrimp and grits' when asked about Hamas ceasefire deal
DETROIT, Mich. (TND) — Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday made a bizarre remark when asked about the potential of a ceasefire deal in the Middle East.
The U.S. on Monday began reviewing a ceasefire deal approved by Hamas to put a temporary stop to the terrorist group's war with Israel. U.S. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller commented on the deal, saying “the ball has been on Hamas' court” to make peace.

State police said in a press release Saturday that Campbell turned himself in on Friday at P.S.P. Huntingdon and was denied bail upon being arraigned.

Huntingdon County District Attorney David Smith announced that a Three Springs man has been charged with homicide in the fatal shooting in Clay Township earlier this month.
Authorities say Cole Campbell, 30, faces charges of criminal homicide, aggravated assault, reckless endangerment and making terroristic threats, according to online court documents.
Infrastructure group tours CPV Fairview Energy Center

It's all powered by the Competitive Power Venture's Fairview Energy Center in Jackson Township, a project that has been years in the making.
The project caught the eye of the group Grow America's Infrastructure, also known as GAIN. On Monday, members of the organization got an exclusive look at the natural gas power plant that has cost over $1 billion to build.
Man accused of trying to open plane's door mid-flight, stabbing flight attendant in neck
WASHINGTON (TND) — A Massachusetts man has been accused of trying to open an emergency exit door on a plane mid-flight and then "attempting to stab a flight attendant in the neck" with a broken metal spoon, according tothe U.S. attorney's office in Boston. Authorities said 33-year-old Francisco Severo Torres, of Leominister, was charged with one count of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants using a dangerous weapon.
